Capacity is not a complete performance ranking
A higher Ah label represents more stated charge capacity within this matched battery family, but it does not by itself establish tool power, balance, weight, cooling, physical clearance or exact work per charge. BL1820B's compact format can change handling compared with larger packs, while BL1860B carries three times its stated Ah. The task, tool and operating conditions still determine which trade-off matters.
Compatibility remains a separate check
Makita ties these modern packs to supported 18V LXT tools with the Star Symbol and/or yellow battery receiver. Confirm that mark and the exact tool record before choosing capacity. Do not infer compatibility from 18V alone or carry these charge times to a non-listed charger.
