The label ratio says XC4.0 has twice the stated Ah of CP2.0, while XC5.0 has 25% more stated Ah than XC4.0. These are capacity comparisons, not exact runtime or power tests. The larger XC base can also change how a compact M12 tool rests or fits into a tight work area.
Keep Milwaukee's claims attached to their baseline
Milwaukee says 48-11-2450 delivers 25% more power, runs 25% cooler, and provides 25% more runtime compared with its other M12 XC packs [2]. Those are manufacturer claims with a stated comparison group. They do not mean every tool completes exactly 25% more work, nor do they turn CP2.0 or XC4.0 into incompatible batteries.
Which one fits a setup?
- Consider CP2.0 when compact form and lower stated capacity fit a short or constrained task.
- Consider XC4.0 when the 4Ah extended-capacity format matches the tool and workflow.
- Consider HIGH OUTPUT XC5.0 when its exact capacity and documented family features are relevant.
Confirm the tool manual, physical clearance, and charger model. Do not substitute 48-11-2425 HIGH OUTPUT CP2.5 for 48-11-2420, or a two-pack for a single pack, merely because the names are close.
